What do others think of me?

Sometimes we think too much about what others think of us because we want everyone to like us and not say anything bad about us. But it's impossible for everyone to like us all the time, and that's completely okay! Imagine you have an invisible backpack that you carry every day. Every time you worry about what others think of you, you put a stone in the backpack. Sometimes you worry so much that the backpack becomes very heavy and hard to carry. But the good thing is, you can learn how to make that backpack lighter!

How it works

  1. Every morning, stand in front of the mirror, strike your best superhero pose (hands on hips, chest out, head held high), and say: 'I am amazing just the way I am!' This helps you feel strong and confident.

  2. Imagine taking each unnecessary thought-stone out of your backpack and saying: 'I don't need this stone!' This helps you realize that you have the power to free yourself from those worries.

  3. Give a compliment to a friend or family member every day and graciously accept compliments. It shows you how nice it is to say positive things about others and hear that not everyone thinks badly of you.

  4. Every evening, name three things you are grateful for. This helps you focus on the positive things in life instead of what others might think.

  5. It's normal to sometimes worry about what others think of us, but it's important to learn that we don't have to be controlled by those thoughts. Each of us is unique and wonderful in our own way, and that's what really matters.

  6. So keep your imaginary backpack light and be proud of who you are. Because you are all superheroes, each in your own special way!
