We will try different shapes and find out which one holds up best. And we will see how much water we need to make the sand perfect for our castles. Before you start building, make a plan. What should your castle look like? What shapes do you want to use? Draw your plan in the sand or on a piece of paper.

Now comes the exciting part: building! Mix sand with water and find out which mixture works best for your castle. Too much water can make the sand too mushy. Too little makes the sand dry and crumbly. So experiment a bit!

Now you can start building. Try out different shapes. Towers or maybe even a bridge? If you want to build a sturdy castle, wide and low shapes are often the best. They provide a good base and are less susceptible to wind and waves.

When your castles are finished, put them to the test. How stable are they? Can a little gust of wind knock them over? Another tip is to pack the sand tightly when you build. This will make the castle sturdier and last longer.

Finally, you can hold a little competition. Who built the most beautiful castle? And who built the sturdiest? But remember: having fun is the most important thing!
