What you'll need

  • Thick paper
  • Salt (regular table salt)
  • Liquid glue
  • Watercolors
  • Brush
  • Cup with water
  • Bowl

How it works

  1. Draw patterns, shapes, or anything you want on the paper with the liquid glue. Let your imagination run wild!

  2. Sprinkle salt generously over the wet glue. Make sure the entire glue pattern is covered. Then gently shake off the excess salt.

  3. Now comes the colorful part! Dip your brush into the watercolor and lightly dab it onto the salt. Watch how the color magically spreads in the salt.

  4. Try different colors and see how they mix on the salt. You can also place the colors side by side and watch them flow into each other.

  5. Once you're done, let your artwork dry. The salt will absorb the color and leave a fantastic, textured picture. Have fun experimenting!
