Pool Noodle Hobby Horse

What you'll need

• Pool noodle
• Scissors
• Foam for ears/nose
• Marker
• Yarn for the mane
• Hot glue gun/glue
• Optional glitter, sequins, etc.

How it works

   First, draw two ears and cut them out. If you can't do this alone, ask your parents for help. They can make a template or draw the ears for you. If you want, you can decorate the ears with glitter.

   Cut out small nostrils as well, and if you want to make a magical unicorn, also cut out a horn. Decorate the horn with glitter, sparkling stones, or sequins until you like it.

   Now prepare your mane and forelock with the yarn. Cut equal lengths of yarn. Then, you need a long piece of yarn to tie the pieces together one by one. For the forelock, just tie a few pieces together in the middle.

   Bend your pool noodle slightly and poke two holes at the top with your scissors. Lay the pool noodle flat in front of you, insert the ears into the holes, and glue them in place. Also glue the eyes, nostrils, and forelock. You can glue the horn over the forelock.

   Now your horse needs a bridle so you can ride. Bend the head and tie a piece of yarn around the nose, then around the neck. Tie a piece of yarn from your noseband up to the ears and secure it on the other side. Then tie on a rein.

   Next, you can glue on your mane, which can be a bit tricky with all the pieces. Ask your parents for help if they need to hold the pieces aside for you.

   Now you can almost ride. Draw a mouth for your companion so it can laugh during your adventures. Before you start your wild adventures, your parents should check if the end needs to be trimmed a bit.
