What you'll need

  • Running clothes
  • Running shoes
  • Maybe a race number

How it works

  1. Download the templates for the race number. Print them out or draw your own race numbers on paper. Write your race numbers on them. Choose a number that means something to you. Maybe your favorite number? Attach the number with safety pins to your clothing.

  2. Choose a route. It can be your garden, a park, or just a path in front of your house. Decide how many laps you want to run. One lap, two, or maybe even five? Draw the start and finish lines with chalk or lay them out with stones or sticks.

  3. Do some jumping jacks, hop in place, or run slowly from one point to another. Stretch your arms and legs, and shake out your hands. This will loosen you up and get you moving.

  4. Stand at the starting line. Say loudly: 'On your marks, get set, go!' and start running, but be careful not to start too fast, or you might run out of breath. If someone overtakes you, cheer them on: 'Well done!' It's all about team spirit and good vibes.

  5. Cheer when you reach the finish line. Everyone is a winner! Get the template for the certificate. Fill in your name and decorate the certificate as you wish. Give each other applause and hang your certificate on the wall. You deserve it!

  6. So, put on your running shoes and let's go! The new year awaits you, full of adventures and possibilities.

  7. You’ve learned that moving can be fun and that it's great to set goals and achieve them. That's a fantastic feeling to start the new year!
