Making Shell Candles
Imagine you're at the beach, the sun is shining, and you're collecting beautiful shells from the sand. You take these shells to your fantasy workshop and turn them into magical shell candles. These candles bring not only light and warmth but also a little piece of the sea to your home. So grab your shells and get started! Important note: Since fire and hot wax can be dangerous, you should only do this craft project under the supervision of an adult.
What you'll need
- Large shell halves
- Tea lights or old taper candles
- Wicks, e.g., from tea lights
- Colors and glitter (optional)
- Lighter
How it works

Carefully remove the wicks from the tea lights and place them in the center of the shell halves. If necessary, use a drop of wax to secure the wicks to the shell so they don't move while filling.

With an adult: Light a tea light or taper candle. For taper candles: Let the wax drip carefully into the shell while the candle burns. For tea lights: Take the tea light with the liquid wax and gently pour the melted wax into the shell.

If you want, you can decorate the wax with some glitter to make your candles unique. Let the wax cool and harden completely in the shells.
