What you'll need

  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 cup water

How it works

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt together.

  2. Slowly add the water and oil, kneading the dough until it is smooth and firm. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour. If it is too dry, add a little more water.

  3. Now you can shape the dough! You can create figures, charms, keychains, name tags, and much more.

  4. Let your creations dry in a warm place. This can take 24-48 hours depending on the thickness of the creation. Optionally, you can also dry them in the oven at about 100°C for about 2 hours, but be careful not to burn them!

  5. Once your creations are dry, you can paint them or decorate them with other materials.

  6. To make the salt dough last longer, you can spray it with clear varnish after drying. This will make it sturdier and more resistant to moisture. Have fun kneading and creating!
