Making Pizza Dough
Imagine turning flour, water, and yeast into the tastiest pizza you've ever had. And the best part: everyone can choose their own toppings! Making pizza dough together is a lot of fun for the whole family. Be brave and discover your pizza-making superpowers! A good basic pizza dough recipe is simple and requires just a few ingredients. Here’s a recipe for classic pizza dough.
What you'll need
- 500 g flour
- 20 g fresh yeast
- Alternatively, 7 g dry yeast
- 300 ml lukewarm water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
How it works
-
If using dry yeast, mix it directly with the 500g of flour. If using fresh yeast, dissolve it with 1 teaspoon of sugar in the 300ml of lukewarm water and let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
-
In a large bowl, combine 500g of flour with 2 teaspoons of salt. Add the yeast-water mixture and 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and mix everything well until a dough forms.
-
Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little flour; if it’s too dry, add a little water.
-
Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours until it has doubled in size.
-
Once the dough has risen, lightly flour the surface and place the dough on it. Knead the dough briefly and then divide it into two halves if you want two pizzas.
-
Shape each half into a ball and then roll it out with your hands or a rolling pin to achieve the desired thickness and size.
-
Top the pizza bases as desired and bake in a preheated oven at 250°C for about 10-15 minutes until the edges are crispy and golden brown. Enjoy your meal!
