What you'll need

  • One banana
  • Strawberry quark
  • Wooden skewers
  • Child-safe knife
  • Cutting board
  • Tray
  • Baking paper
  • Colorful sprinkles
  • Optional: Chocolate sprinkles, coconut flakes

How it works

  1. Take a banana. It should be ripe but not mushy. Slice the banana. How many bananas do you need? Is the ice snack just for you? Or do you want to surprise your friends? Or your parents?

  2. Now it’s time for the quark. Take strawberry quark or another flavor you like. Stir the quark well to make it creamy. Use a wooden skewer to dip a banana slice into the quark. Turn it a bit so it gets covered all around.

  3. And now it’s sprinkle time! Sprinkles are like confetti for your ice. Grab colorful sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles, coconut flakes, or whatever you can think of. Sprinkle them over the quark or dip the banana directly into the sprinkles.

  4. Line a tray with baking paper. This way, nothing will stick later. Carefully place your finished bananas on it. Make sure they don’t touch each other, or they will freeze together. Now you need patience. Put the tray in the freezer for at least two hours.

  5. When the time is up, take your banana snacks out of the freezer. Now comes the best part: Take a bite! Can you feel how cold it is? The quark becomes a bit like ice, and the banana is nice and firm. Was the wait worth it?

  6. Maybe you feel like trying new flavors. With different fruits, quark varieties, or toppings. That’s the beauty of such an adventure. You experiment a bit, do it your way, and in the end, you have something that’s one of a kind. Your very own ice cream!
