What you'll need

  • Colorful strings, yarn, or similar
  • Beads
  • Scissors
  • Feathers
  • 3 sticks, about 30cm long

How it works

  1. Take your three sticks and arrange them to form a triangle. Now it's time for the string. Tie the ends of the sticks together tightly with the string. Wrap the string around the ends several times to make the triangle stable. Tie the string securely so nothing can slip.

  2. Take your string again and tie it at one corner of the triangle. Now stretch the string across to the opposite corner and tie it there. Do the same with the other corners until a net is formed. You can also crisscross the string.

  3. Tip: You can thread beads onto the string along the way to give the net a special look. It not only looks great but also makes your dreamcatcher unique!

  4. Now it's time for the strings for the bottom part of the dreamcatcher. Cut three or more pieces of string, depending on how many hangers you want. Tie these strings to the bottom edge of the triangle.

  5. Tip: Here you can be creative again and thread beads onto the strings or attach feathers. Let your imagination run wild! Just make sure to tie the ends of the strings well so nothing falls off.

  6. Finally, find a nice spot for your dreamcatcher. It's best to hang it above your bed. This way, it can watch over your dreams at night and keep the bad ones away.

  7. Be proud of your handmade dreamcatcher. Let it guard your dreams and remember how much fun it was to create it.
