Ghost Costume from a Blanket

Halloween is just around the corner. Spider webs are hanging everywhere, small and large pumpkins are sitting at the doorstep, and the darkness makes everything a bit more mysterious. Maybe there will be a knock at the door, and you’ll hear a "Trick or treat!". What could be better than a real ghost costume? You don’t need much for it. No expensive outfits from the store, just a white blanket or an old bed sheet. With a few simple steps, you can transform into a spooky yet funny ghost.

What you'll need

a white blanket or old bed sheet
a pair of scissors
black foam or black paper
glue (fabric glue or craft glue)
possibly safety pins

How it works

Take the white blanket or bed sheet. Fold it twice so that one corner remains closed. Use the scissors to carefully cut a curved triangle out of the closed corner. This hole will be the neck opening. Don’t make it too big so that the costume doesn’t slip.
Try it on: Put the blanket over your head. If it’s tight, cut a little more. This way it will fit your size. If the blanket hangs down to the floor, it could be dangerous while walking. Cut it so that you can walk freely.
Think about whether your ghost should look friendly, cheeky, or spooky. Draw big eyes and a mouth on the black foam or black paper with a pen. Cut out the shapes. Glue the pieces onto your costume. You can also add symbols like stars or bats.
Now put on your costume and try it out. Can you move freely? Then it’s perfect. Take a few steps, raise your arms, and say "Boo!". You are now a real ghost. Dare to play in your new role and surprise others.
