Folding a Ladybug

Imagine you're sitting outside on a meadow. The sun is shining on your face, the grass tickles your feet, and suddenly a little ladybug crawls over your arm. So calm, so careful. You look at its wings, at the black spots, and somehow it just makes you happy. They say a ladybug brings good luck. Now you can make your own ladybug. Just out of paper. Without it flying away. Folding requires concentration. So, let's get started. Look forward to your very own lucky bug.

What you'll need

Red square paper
Black felt-tip pen

How it works

Place the paper in front of you so that one point is facing you. Now fold it diagonally once. From the bottom point to the top. Press the edge down firmly. Now you have a triangle.
Take your triangle and fold it again. Then unfold it. Now you see a crease in the middle. Fold the two outer points to the center line. Right along the crease you just made. A small square is formed.
Look closely at the shape. There is one side with two open points and one side that is closed. Fold the closed point a little forward. Not too much, just enough so it looks like a small head.
Turn the whole paper over. Now you see the back side. Fold both sides to the center line. Then fold a small piece on the left and right, from the perspective of the head. Turn the whole paper back over. Now your bug is almost finished.
Now take a black pen. Color the head completely black. Then draw spots on the red wings. Your ladybug is ready! You can place it on a branch as decoration or give it as a lucky charm. Maybe you'll fold another one. Or a whole family.
