Square transparent paper

How it works

Take a square piece of transparent paper. Fold it in half once to create a rectangle. Smooth the edge with your fingers and unfold it. Rotate the paper 90 degrees and fold it in half again to create another rectangle. Smooth the edge.
Unfold the paper again. Now you have a cross of fold lines on your paper. Fold one point exactly to the center. Use the fold lines as a guide. Smooth the edges. Repeat this with all four points to create a smaller square.
Now it gets exciting! Look at the new edges. Take one side and fold it inward so it looks like a kite shape. The edge should be right in the middle. Do the same on the other side of this point.
To give your star eight points, repeat the previous step with seven more pieces of transparent paper. Each 'kite' is a point of your star.
Lay all the points in front of you. The wide ends should face inward. Apply some glue to one side and stick the points together. Work slowly and carefully to ensure the star is nicely symmetrical. Attach the last point to the first to form a circle.
Stick your star to the window with tape. When the sunlight shines through, your star will glow beautifully! If you want, you can make more stars for your windows.
