Flower Printing with a Hammer
Today we have an exciting and creative craft idea: flower printing with a hammer on canvas bags! It's not only fun, but it also boosts your creativity and skills. You'll see how simple flowers can create beautiful prints that you can proudly display or gift.
What you'll need
- Various flowers
- Hammer
- Canvas bag or paper
- Hard surface
- Old dish towels
How it works
-
Gather all your materials. Choose fresh flowers and leaves. Make sure they are not too dry, as juicy plants create better prints. Lay your canvas bag flat on a hard surface. Cover the workspace with an old cloth.
-
Think about how you want your print to look. Place the flowers and leaves on the canvas bag. You can create patterns or just scatter the flowers randomly. Use your creativity!
-
Place an old cloth over the flowers on the bag. Now comes the exciting part: hold the hammer firmly and start gently hammering the flowers. Be careful to hammer evenly and not too hard, so the flowers don’t shift.
-
Once you've hammered all the flowers, carefully remove the cloth. Peel off the flowers and leaves and admire your flower print! Sometimes, small plant pieces may stick to the fabric. You can gently remove these with your fingers.
-
This project is not only a great way to be creative, but you also learn something about nature. Flowers and leaves contain natural dyes that are released when hammered. It's an exciting insight into the world of plants and their colors.
-
Give it a try and create your own unique canvas bags that you can use as bags, gift bags, or decorations. Have fun hammering and discovering!
