What you'll need

  • Water
  • 1 cup of flour
  • Whisk
  • Jar with lid
  • Container
  • Optional: Sieve
  • Optional: Pot

How it works

  1. Sift one cup of flour to avoid lumps. This will ensure a smoother consistency of the glue.

  2. In a container, mix the flour with one third of water. Stir well until the mixture is smooth.

  3. If you want a thicker glue, cook the mixture over medium heat in a pot. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens. Be careful not to let it burn. Without cooking, the glue will remain thinner and less sticky, but still usable for light crafts.

  4. Pour the cooled glue into a jar or container. Seal it well.

  5. Now you can use the glue for your craft projects.

  6. The homemade glue made from flour and water can usually be stored in a well-sealed container in the fridge for about a week. It’s important to keep it cool, as it can spoil otherwise.
