Farm Animal Fingerprints

What you'll need

• Stamp pad
• or watercolors
• Black fine liner
• Colored pencils

How it works

   Before you start, think: What animals do you want on your farm? A pink pig? A brown horse? A yellow chick? Choose your colors accordingly!

   Now dip the finger you want to use for your first animal into the chosen color. If you're using a stamp pad, just press your finger on it. For watercolors, dip your finger in the water, then into the paint. You can also try it out on a test sheet first.

   Now it gets magical! Press your finger onto the paper. Voilà! You've just created your first fingerprint animal body. You can make as many prints as you want for each farm animal in your collection.

   Now your artwork needs a little break to dry. In the meantime, think about how you want to design your animals. Will your pig have a big snout? Does your horse have a long mane?

   Once the prints are dry, grab your fine liner. Now you turn the colorful prints into real animals! Draw ears, eyes, a mouth, and maybe even hooves and tails.

   Now that your animals are finished, how about a colorful landscape? Maybe your animals need a barn, a green meadow, or a fence. You could even add a blue pond or a red tractor!
