Dyeing Eggs with Rice
Easter is coming soon. Want to try dyeing Easter eggs in a whole new way? With rice! Yes, you heard that right. With rice and food coloring, your eggs will become colorful and have amazing patterns. Grab your parents because you're about to start the coolest egg dyeing project ever!
What you'll need
- 1 kg of rice
- Food coloring
- Seal-able bags
- A little vinegar
- White hard-boiled eggs
How it works
-
Have an adult boil and cool the eggs for you. While the eggs are boiling, gather all the supplies you need.
-
In the meantime, fill a cup of rice into a bag. Add a few drops of your favorite color. Use a separate bag for each color. A teaspoon of vinegar per color helps the dye stick better to the egg.
-
Place an egg into the bag with the rice. Seal it and shake gently. The rice will act like a brush, painting the color onto the egg. The longer you shake, the more intense the pattern will be.
-
Take your egg out and ta-da! Here’s your colorful egg! Like magic, the rice has created cool patterns on the egg. Create even more artworks! Each egg is a little wonder. You can place them on the Easter table. Have fun trying it out and happy Easter!
