Digging a Sand Pit

Sunshine, the cool ocean breeze, and the fun, tickling feeling of sand between your toes - Yes, you're at the beach! It's summer, and you have a very special plan for today: You're going to dig the biggest and deepest sand pit you've ever seen! But don't worry, you'll do this safely and have a lot of fun. Here are your tasks.

How it works

You need to find a spot that isn't too close to the water so your sandcastle doesn't get washed away. But also make sure it's not too far so you can easily fetch water when you need it.
Now that you've found the perfect spot, take a stick and draw a big circle in the sand. This circle will be the boundary of your pit. You decide how big it will be!
With your shovel, start removing sand from the circle. Begin at the edge and work your way in. The deeper you dig, the more you'll see the sand pile around the pit grow. Fun, right?
As you dig deeper, you need to be careful. It's important that the sides of the pit aren't too steep, or it might collapse. It's better if the sides slope gently, like a small hill.
Now comes the part you'll definitely enjoy: Go to the water and fill your bucket. Pour it into the pit to make the sand firm. This makes it safer and looks cool too!
Now that your sand pit is finished, it's time to decorate it! You could make it look like a crater or maybe like an entrance to an underground palace. Use shells, stones, and anything you find on the beach to beautify your masterpiece.
And of course, before you go home, fill the pit back in so the beach stays safe for everyone. Now, apply sunscreen, grab your shovel, and off you go!
