Crafting a Santa Boot from a Paper Cup & Napkin
You probably know the tradition on December 6th when children put their Santa boots outside the door. Today, you'll make your own boot from a paper cup and a red napkin. While folding and shaping, you'll see how you can create something new with simple materials. You'll think about how to hold the napkin, how to keep the boot standing, and how you want to decorate it. This way, you train your creativity, dexterity, concentration, and problem-solving skills. And maybe you'll give your boot to someone you like.
What you'll need
- A paper cup
- A red napkin
- Some newspaper or aluminum foil
- A gift ribbon
- Pine greenery
- Nuts, a mandarin, or other small items
How it works

Lay the red napkin in front of you and unfold it completely. Place the paper cup upright. Form a small ball from aluminum foil or paper. This ball will later become the rounded toe of the boot.

Place the napkin over the ball and cup. Gently press the napkin into the cup to create the shape of a boot.

Take a ribbon and tie it around the outside of the cup. This will hold the napkin in place and give the boot its typical shape. Put a small surprise inside, like nuts, a bit of pine greenery, a mandarin, or a message. Your boot is ready for Santa Day.
