What you'll need

  • 2 cups of shredded coconut (200g)
  • 1 can of sweetened condensed milk (400g)
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • Baking wafers
  • Baking sheet with parchment paper
  • Spoon
  • Bowl
  • Wooden spoon or mixer

How it works

  1. Open the sweetened condensed milk and pour it into a bowl. Add two cups of shredded coconut and, if you like, the packet of vanilla sugar.

  2. Stir everything well with a spoon or mixer. The mixture will become sticky, which is perfect for macaroons.

  3. Place the baking wafers on the baking sheet. Now, use two spoons to form small heaps of the coconut mixture and carefully place them on the wafers. How many macaroons can you make?

  4. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius (320 degrees Fahrenheit). Ask an adult to help you with this. Once the oven is preheated, let an adult know so they can put the baking sheet in the oven. The coconut macaroons will bake for about 15 minutes.

  5. The coconut macaroons are ready! Let an adult know so they can carefully take the macaroons out of the oven. Let them cool on the baking sheet. And then comes the best part: tasting! How do they taste to you?
