Birdwatching at the Sea
The sea is a wonderful place not just for us humans, but also for many different species of birds. Today, we will become birdwatchers and try to spot as many different types as possible. Maybe we will even see some birds that are just passing through and taking a break here! So, grab your binoculars and let’s observe the sky and the sea together!
What you'll need
- Binoculars
- Research book and pencil
How it works
-
Look around carefully. What birds can you see? Are they big or small? What colors do they have? Where are they - in the water, on the beach, in the air?
-
Did you see a bird? Try to draw it! Pay attention to the details: the shape of the beak, the colors of the feathers, the size compared to things around it.
-
Try to imitate the sounds of the birds. This can be quite funny!
-
When we get home, we can learn more about the birds we saw. In which countries do they live? What do they eat? How many eggs do they lay? How far do they fly when they migrate? Find out.
-
There is so much to discover when we take the time to observe the nature around us. As birdwatchers, you can be part of this exciting world and help protect it at the same time!
What kids learn from this
