Children have the right to be protected from violence. This means that no one is allowed to hurt you, either physically or emotionally. Every child deserves to grow up in a safe environment where they don’t have to be afraid. Sometimes, someone might try to hurt you or scare you. If you feel this way or see violence, it’s important to seek help immediately. Talk to an adult you trust, like your mom, dad, a teacher, or a caregiver. They will help you and make sure you are safe. It’s also important to know that violence can take many forms.

How it works

  1. Sometimes someone might hit you, kick you, or pull your hair. But violence can also be loud shouting or mean words that hurt you. No matter the form, no one has the right to treat you this way.

  2. You have the right to say "Stop!" loudly if someone wants to hurt you or makes you feel uncomfortable. It’s also important to talk about it if someone gives you unwanted touches or does things that hurt you. Seek help immediately and tell a trusted person.

  3. If you witness violence or hear about it, you can report it. Talk to an adult, your teacher, or call the police. This way, you can help stop violence and keep all children safe.

  4. Sometimes adults or children want you to keep a secret. But you know what? If someone tells you not to tell anyone, it’s still important to talk to a trusted person about it. Secrets should never endanger your safety.

  5. Remember, there is always someone who wants to protect you. Your parents, teachers, caregivers, or trusted people are your personal superheroes who are there to keep you safe.

  6. You are not alone! You can help create a world without violence. How? By talking to others about it and looking out for other children and yourself. Every child has the right to a life without violence.
