Imagine walking through the garden in the dark and suddenly seeing a real ghost! You can create one yourself. With an old pool noodle, a pair of pants, shoes, a ball, and a white sheet, you can make your very own Halloween ghost. It stands, sways in the wind, and looks really real! You can even give it a name, maybe 'Fridolin, the Mischievous Ghost'. While crafting, you'll learn to use materials creatively and think outside the box. You'll practice precise work, plan steps, and can collaborate with friends or siblings. This way, crafting becomes an adventure and your home turns into a haunted house, perfect for Halloween.

What you'll need

  • A pool noodle
  • An old pair of children's pants
  • Old children's shoes
  • A ball or balloon for the head
  • Tape and scissors
  • A white sheet or blanket
  • Black construction paper, foam, & fabric

How it works

  1. Insert the pool noodle into an old pair of pants. Attach the shoes at the bottom to keep your ghost stable.

  2. Place a ball or balloon on top of the pool noodle. Secure it with tape so it doesn't wobble. This is the head of your ghost.

  3. Drape the white sheet or an old blanket over the head and shoulders. Make sure the face is covered, but the feet and legs are slightly visible.

  4. Cut out eyes from black construction paper or fabric. Stick them onto the sheet. You can also add a pirate hat or any other hat you like.

  5. Position your ghost in front of the door or in the garden on Halloween. When the wind blows, it moves just like a real ghost! Anyone passing by will surely get a fright.
