Muffin Cups from Baking Paper
You feel like having muffins. Maybe chocolate muffins, lemon muffins, or apple muffins. The batter is already mixed, the oven is preheating, and then you realize: There are no muffin cups left. What now? Just make muffin cups from baking paper yourself. The homemade cups even look really cool. Not like the store-bought ones, but a bit like little treasure chests made of paper. By the way, this is also an important part of learning. Don't give up right away, but try, puzzle, and find solutions. Now it's your turn!
What you'll need
- Baking paper
- A pair of scissors
- Muffin baking tray
- Muffin batter
- Ice cream scoop
- A ruler
How it works
-
Cut squares from the baking paper measuring about 15x15 cm. Use a ruler to help you cut more accurately.
-
Place a square in front of you. Fold it once from side to side to create a rectangle. Open it again. Then fold the other side into a rectangle as well. Open it again. Now you see a fold cross.
-
Place a square of baking paper into one of the muffin tray cups. Take a glass or a cup and place it in the center on the paper in the cup. Press it down gently. The paper will mold to the shape. Now it already looks like a cup.
-
Now you can add the muffin batter. Be careful not to fill it too much, so it doesn't overflow while baking. Two-thirds full is perfect. Tip: Hold the cup lightly with one hand while you fill in the batter. Otherwise, it might slide up a bit.
-
Bake your muffins as indicated in the recipe. While they are in the oven, you can watch them slowly rise. The baking paper cups hold everything together well. When you take the muffins out of the oven, you'll notice: The cups look really special.
-
Tip: If some batter sticks to the edge of the baking paper cups, you can gently crumble it off. Or you can trim the edges with the scissors a little to clean them up.
