Making Chia Slime
Kids love slime! With chia seeds, you can create a natural, non-toxic slime that's both fun and safe. This chia slime is not only stretchy and moldable, but you can also add food coloring to give it your personal touch!
What you'll need
- For one portion:
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 120 ml water
- food coloring as needed
- spoon
- jar
- 15 tablespoons cornstarch
- optional disposable gloves
How it works
-
In a jar, mix the 2 tablespoons of chia seeds with 120 ml of water. Stir well so that all the seeds are submerged.
-
Add a few drops of food coloring and stir again until you reach the desired color.
-
Place the jar in the fridge for about 2 hours so the chia seeds can swell and create a gel-like consistency.
-
Take the jar out of the fridge. Add 15 tablespoons of cornstarch to the chia seeds. Tip: Put on gloves. Knead the mixture with your hands until it becomes moldable slime. Depending on the consistency, you can add a bit more or less cornstarch if needed.
-
This chia slime is non-toxic but should not be eaten. If the slime is too sticky, just add a bit more cornstarch. You can also add glitter or other decorations! Have fun kneading, shaping, and playing!
