What you'll need

  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 1 cup citric acid powder
  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • Optional: food coloring
  • Optional: lavender oil
  • Pot
  • Cooking spoon
  • Cup
  • Molds for the pearls
  • Half a cup of cornstarch

How it works

  1. In a bowl, mix 1 cup of citric acid, 2 cups of baking soda, and half a cup of cornstarch thoroughly.

  2. Heat about 1 cup of coconut oil until it is liquid. Slowly pour it into the bowl and stir the mixture until it looks like damp sand.

  3. Do the test. If the mixture is too crumbly, add a little more coconut oil. If the mixture is too wet, just add a bit more baking soda.

  4. Experiment with different colors to make your bath bombs even cooler. If you want, add a few drops of essential oil, like lavender. Mix everything well.

  5. Now it gets exciting! Take some of the mixture and press it firmly into your molds. Carefully remove the bath bombs and place them on baking paper, an empty egg carton, or a cloth.

  6. Let the bath bombs dry for a few hours or overnight until they are really hard. It's like waiting for your birthday, it takes a little while. But when they are firm, you have your own super colorful bath bombs.

  7. Usage: Place a bath bomb in warm bath water and enjoy the bubbling experience and pleasant scent. They also make a wonderful homemade gift! Have fun experimenting!
