How it works

Take a large container, like a bucket or a bowl. Now you need sand. To make the sand nice and fine, you can pour it through a sieve. This will leave behind larger stones or plant debris.

Now comes the exciting part. Take the shaving cream and spray some into your sand. Start with a little, maybe a small handful. Use a spatula or your hands to mix the sand and shaving cream thoroughly.

How does the mixture feel? Is it too sticky or too dry? Keep experimenting, gradually adding more shaving cream until you notice your mortar sticks together perfectly.

Now find some stones. Maybe you already have an idea of what you want to build. Take your homemade mortar and spread it with the spatula on the first stone. Then carefully place a second stone on top. Press it down gently. Test to see if everything holds well.
