Crafting Golden Treasures
Do you want to create sparkling golden treasures that hide a secret gem inside? With this clay project, you can make your own treasures. Perfect as a gift or as a highlight for a children's birthday party!
What you'll need
- Air-drying clay
- Gems
- Water
- Bowl
- Crafting surface
- Old egg carton
- Gold spray
How it works
-
Take a piece of air-drying clay and knead it until it's soft. Shape it into a ball that fits nicely in your hand.
-
Press your finger into the ball to create a dent and place the gem inside. Then reshape the clay until the stone is completely covered.
-
Dip your fingers in water and smooth the surface of the clay. Roll the ball until it looks nice and even. You can also try other shapes.
-
Place the shaped treasures in an old egg carton and let them dry completely. This takes one to two days, depending on the size.
-
Get help from an adult. Go outside and lay out something old, like newspaper or similar. Spray the dried clay from about 20 cm away with gold spray. Let it dry for a few minutes. Your sparkling treasures are ready!
-
Hide your treasures as a great surprise during a treasure hunt in the garden or give them to your friends!
