What you'll need

A bunch of cotton pads
Clean jar
Bowl
Water
Food coloring
Spoon

How it works

Fill a bowl with water. Now it gets exciting. Add a few drops of food coloring. What color should the rose be? Maybe a red rose? Stir well to distribute the color.
Dip a cotton pad into the colored water. Watch closely. The cotton absorbs the water and slowly changes color. Take the pad out and gently squeeze it so it doesn't drip anymore.
Take a cotton pad and place it halfway over the edge of the jar. It should be half inside and half outside. Then place the next pad next to it, overlapping all around the jar.
Continue until the hole in the middle is closed. This is how the rose keeps growing!
