Imagine your practice words all have their own 'families', and you help them find their way home! There’s the family of nouns, verbs, and adjectives. With each word you sort correctly, you not only get smarter but also learn what each word does in a sentence. So, ready for the mission 'Sort the Words'? Let’s go!

How it works

Pick a piece of paper and take a close look at the word. Is it a noun, a verb, or an adjective? Don’t worry, here are some tips to help you.

Nouns. These are all things, people, animals, or plants. Nouns are the 'main characters' in a sentence. Ask yourself: Can I put 'the' before it? If yes, it belongs to the nouns. Examples: 'the dog', 'the flower', 'the house'.

Verbs. The 'action words'. They show what someone does or what happens. You can change them into different forms, like 'I run', 'you run'. Examples: 'play', 'run', 'draw'.

Adjectives. These words describe how something is. Adjectives add more color to nouns. Does the word fit well with 'very'? Then it’s probably an adjective, like 'very fast', 'very big'. Examples: 'red', 'loud', 'small'.

Do you know now where the word belongs? Perfect! Place it in the right bowl: the noun with the nouns, the verb with the verbs, and the adjective with the adjectives.

Take the next piece of paper and repeat the process: look at the word, think, and sort it. You’ll see that it gets easier from word to word. Each word finds its 'home'. So come on, embark on the mission 'Sort the Words' and show what you can do!
