Practicing Reading with a Glass Stone

How it works

A glass stone or muggle stone is a small, transparent stone that you can often find in craft or decoration stores. Ask your parents if they can help you find a glass stone.

Take a book or magazine with letters to practice.

Hold the glass stone over the letters on the page. Move the stone slowly back and forth until you notice that the letters appear larger through the stone.

Look at the letters through the glass stone and try to read them.

Try the glass stone with different books or texts. Try to read words or even whole sentences.

You can also use the glass stone to enlarge other small things, like pictures of insects or small drawings. Have fun experimenting and reading!
