Detective Magnifying Glass

What you'll need

• A flat glass bowl
• Blue food coloring
• A sheet of white paper
• A pen
• A jar

How it works

   Fill the glass bowl with water. Add a few drops of blue food coloring or watercolor to the water and stir until it is completely blue.

   Ask someone to write a short secret message on the sheet of paper with the pen. It could be letters or words like 'Mom', 'Secret', or a sentence like 'You can do it!'

   Place the sheet of paper on a table and set the glass bowl with the blue liquid on top.

   Now take the jar and gently press it into the blue liquid. Watch as the blue color is pushed aside and the letters in the jar become visible, as if you are looking through a magnifying glass! Have fun discovering and decoding the secret messages!
