What you'll need

  • Graph paper
  • A pen
  • Two small pieces of paper
  • Scissors
  • A friend

How it works

  1. Draw five dots in a circle on a piece of paper. These dots are the game spaces where the cat and mouse will move. Place one dot exactly in the center.

  2. Connect the top dot to the center with a line. Now connect the two bottom dots with two diagonal lines to the center and all around.

  3. Write 'Cat' on one small piece of paper and 'Mouse' on the other. Fold the papers and draw one; whoever draws the cat chases the mouse!

  4. The mouse starts in the center, and the cat on another dot. You can only move along the lines, from dot to dot. The cat tries to catch the mouse by landing on the same dot. The mouse must cleverly dodge.

  5. Did the cat catch the mouse? Great, then switch roles! The mouse becomes the cat and can now hunt. If you like, set a time limit. Have fun playing!
