Easter is just around the corner, and bunnies are hopping through gardens and fields. But have you ever thought that a bunny can also be made from a pretzel? With this simple trick, you can turn frozen pretzels into delicious Easter bunnies. Perfect for an Easter breakfast or as a fun snack in between. You can bake the bunnies together with friends or family. Maybe you'll even invent your own version with extra ingredients? Cheese, sesame, or sunflower seeds can make your bunnies special. Give it a try! Warning, the oven gets very hot! Have an adult preheat it and take the bunnies in and out of the oven.

Frozen pretzels
Baking tray

How it works

Take the frozen pretzels out of the packaging and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Let them thaw a bit. Make sure they don't get too soft so you can cut them well. While you wait, you can think about how you want your bunnies to look.
Cut each pretzel in half, so you have two equal parts. Now make a small cut in each piece, but only halfway. These will be the ears! Gently bend the two cut pieces outward so they look like bunny ears.
Now it's time for the salt! Sprinkle it over the Easter bunnies. If you have more ideas, give them a try: sesame, caraway, or cheese make your bunnies extra tasty. If you like, you can also press raisins or pumpkin seeds as eyes.
With the help of an adult, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (or 200 degrees Celsius for top/bottom heat). When it's hot, slide the tray with the bunnies inside. Bake them for about 15 minutes until they are golden brown.
