Imagine you're a brave captain on an exciting mission to explore the mysterious waters of jelly. Your ship? None other than a bold companion, carved from orange peels. Does that sound like an adventure? Then grab your kitchen gear and set sail!

How it works

First, you need to cut the oranges in half. Ask an adult to help you if you haven't cut before. Then take a spoon and carefully scoop out the orange halves. You can eat the inside of the orange as a snack or use it for a delicious juice.
Read the instructions on the jelly package and prepare the jelly with the help of an adult according to the instructions. You can choose any color you like. How about a green lake of forest fruit flavor?
Before you fill the liquid jelly into the orange halves, you can place small pieces of your favorite fruit inside. How about little grapes that look like pearls from the deep, or blueberries and raspberries that represent hidden jewels?
Carefully fill the jelly into the hollowed-out orange halves and place them in the fridge. The jelly needs a few hours to set. It's best to do this in the evening so the ships can 'anchor' overnight in the safe harbor of the fridge.
Once the jelly is set, your ships are ready to be launched. You can leave the orange halves as they are or cut them into smaller segments to create smaller boats.
You can also raise sails. Cut an apple into thin slices. These will be the sails of your ships. You might need to experiment a bit to find the best position for the sails so they stay upright and don't tip over.
