Make Strawberry Tea from Strawberry Scraps
Today is going to be exciting! Imagine you can create a super delicious tea from the strawberry scraps that no one wants anymore. It's not only fun, but you'll also learn how to use food wisely and avoid waste. This is good for you and for our planet!
What you'll need
- Strawberry scraps
- Pot
- Water
- Optional: a bit of honey for sweetness
How it works
-
Did you eat strawberries and have some small pieces left? Great! We need those strawberry scraps now.
-
Take a pot and put all the strawberry scraps in it. Then fill the pot with about a liter of water.
-
Now the water needs to boil. That means it gets hot and starts bubbling. An adult should be there to make sure you don't burn yourself.
-
Once the water has boiled, turn down the heat and wait for 10 minutes. During this time, the tea will steep and take on the flavor of the strawberries.
-
Now get an adult to help you pour the tea through a sieve. This way, the solid pieces stay in the sieve, and you have nice clear tea.
-
Now you can drink your own strawberry tea. Make sure the tea isn't too hot before you drink it, so you don't burn your mouth. You've not only made delicious tea but also learned how to avoid waste. Enjoy drinking your tea!
