Do you know what advertising is and what it's for? There is a lot of advertising on the internet. Advertising is like a short film, a picture, or a story that is meant to encourage you to buy something. But be careful! Sometimes, advertising isn't real. It tries to make you believe something that isn't true. Be critical, cautious, and pay attention when you're online.

Visit your favorite websites and look around. Can you spot any ads? Are you seeing advertisements? How often do they appear? Count how many ads you see.

There are also ads in videos. Often, ads play before a video starts or in the middle of it. Check if you get ads and what they are promoting. This will help you understand how often you encounter ads and what they are for.

Be aware that advertising is there to sell you something. Ask your parents or an adult if you're unsure whether an ad is real or not. Be critical and don't believe everything that is said in ads.
